The Golden Rules:
- If you get it out, put it away.
- If you open it, close it.
- If you finish it, replace it.
- If it's full, empty it.
- If you take it off, hang it up.
- If it's dirty, wash it.
- If it's garbage, trash it.
These simple rules, will keep your home clean and clutter free.
Purchases:
Live by the one in, one out rule. It will keep the amount of stuff you own in check. Especially true for your wardrobe. The new piece should be the new, best thing in your closet! Get rid of one or more now that you have it.
Create Zones of Activity:
Good rule for every room in the house, have zones. In the playroom, create a reading zone, a play zone, an activity zone, etc. In the bedroom, create a reading zone in your bedside table, a grooming zone on your dresser, a sleeping/bed supplies zone in one spot of the bedroom closet. The possibilities are endless and each item for that function will always be readily available in its zone.
